Job description

  • Conceive, design and develop innovative hardware and controls architectures for new products.
  • Contribute to system design, including development of 3D models/assemblies, PLC systems, sensor selection and/or electrical schematics.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team that includes vendors, mechanical/software engineers to develop novel technology.
  • Develop business case, application, and theory of operation for engineering systems and document for senior management.
  • Drive product definition, development execution and testing. Identify and validate product risks and work with team to mitigate them.
  • Specify testing to verify compliance with requirements. Interface with engineering managers, product management and/or program management to drive new product development programs from concept to commercialization.
  • Engage with vendors and technology suppliers to evaluate and select technology applicable to program objectives.
  • Be hands-on to bring online new product prototypes, conduct verification testing and performance validation.
  • Provide up-to-date, accurate information to colleagues and management. Mentor and coach new engineers and interns.
  • Support cost reduction and sustaining activities

Requirements

Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent engineering science
  • 10+ years of new hardware products development experience, Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production
  • Experience with the project management of technical projects

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
