- Provide first-line customer support and technical expertise for Hyperforce DNS-related issues to determine the root cause of DNS outages to implement workarounds and permanent solutions.
- Ensure all Hyperforce DNS issues are resolved promptly, with minimal customer impact.
- Isolate server software problems and work with vendors to resolve issues as necessary.
- Perform proactive maintenance, builds, decommissioning, etc.
- Work collaboratively with engineering teams to identify ways to proactively improve the stability of the services and decrease the potential for future outages to occur.
- Drive service ownership for the DNS Cloud; assist in streamlining problem and change management processes, improving alerting and incident handling, and increasing automation.
Requirements
Salesforce’s DNS team seeks a Senior/Lead Engineer to join the DNS Operations team. This team is responsible for 24x7 support of the Salesforce public cloud environments. As a member of the DNS Operations team, you will be responsible for incident management on all aspects of the production DNS solution, including performing break/fix and proactive maintenance to resolve outages and minimize the potential for future impact. This includes building, upgrading, and decommissioning public cloud environments. You will support Hyperforce DNS-related customer issues and ensure thorough root cause analysis is completed on all the customer-impacting problems., * Minimum of 5+ years of work experience working with Cloud Architecture
- In-depth, hands-on experience with Linux Systems Administration and Troubleshooting, servers, and Cloud architecture. Good knowledge of Linux internals.
- Proven professional work experience with Python. In-depth understanding of OOP, design patterns, data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
- Public cloud engineering on GCP, AWS, and or Azure platforms. Cloud provisioning, infrastructure, and migration at cloud scale.
- Use of AI assisted development tools to automate DNS and infrastructure management.
- Solid understanding of configuring, deploying, managing, and maintaining large cloud-hosted systems.
- Experience with container and orchestration systems like Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools like Splunk, Puppet, Spinnaker, Terraform, git, etc.
- Strong understanding of fundamental network technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, SQL, HTTP, Switches, Routers.
- CI/CD experience with tools like Jenkins, and Travis CI.
- Implementation experience of large infrastructure projects.
- A continuous learner, a critical thinker, and a team player with excellent communication skills.
- Embrace a culture and work environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.
- Configuration management with open-source tools, ideally Puppet, Chef, Salt, or Ansible.
- Experience maintaining monitoring platforms like Grafana.
Even Better If You Have:
- Experience using AWS Route 53.
- Working in high-availability, 24x7x365 large-scale multi-datacenter environment
- Highly skilled in packet analysis, network analysis tools, troubleshooting, and analytical fault diagnosis.
- Security hardening of network infrastructure, such as DNSSEC
