Job description

The Vice President for Enrollment Management serves as the College’s chief enrollment officer and is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive enrollment strategy that advances Vaughn College’s mission, vision, and institutional goals. The vice president provides leadership, direction, and oversight for admissions, financial aid, student accounts, the registrar, and the opportunity programs (including high school and college opportunity programs).

The successful candidate will be a collaborative, data-informed, student-centered leader with exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The vice president will be responsible for meeting new student enrollment goals, improving enrollment processes, increasing conversion and retention rates, leveraging technology and analytics to drive decision-making, overseeing the growth of pathways from middle and high school to college, and ensuring a seamless student experience from inquiry through graduation.

Enrollment growth and the reimagining of the student journey when interfacing with Vaughn’s enrollment services teams are the highest priorities of this position.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Strategic Enrollment Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and continuously assess a comprehensive Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) plan.
  • Establish measurable enrollment goals and lead institutional efforts to achieve undergraduate, graduate, transfer, continuing education, and special program enrollment targets.
  • Provide leadership in the development of enrollment forecasts, market analyses, and recruitment strategies.
  • Utilize predictive analytics, enrollment data, and market intelligence to inform strategic decisions and resource allocation.
  • Regularly report enrollment performance metrics, trends, and recommendations to the president, senior staff, and board of trustees.

Admissions Leadership

  • Lead all aspects of student recruitment and admissions operations.
  • Develop innovative recruitment strategies that increase applications, admits, deposits, and enrollments.
  • Ensure admissions communications, CRM workflows, and student engagement strategies support enrollment growth.
  • Evaluate and optimize enrollment funnels to improve conversion rates at every stage.
  • Expand the culture of accountability through new performance metrics, enrollment dashboards, and regular assessment of recruitment effectiveness.
  • Monitor demographic and market trends and identify new recruitment opportunities.
  • Foster strong relationships with school counselors, community-based organizations, employers, and transfer institutions.
  • Oversee optimization of CRM and enrollment technology systems.
  • Develop recruitment strategies that support Vaughn’s commitment to access, opportunity, and serving students from underrepresented and under-resourced communities.

Financial Aid and Student Accounts

  • Provide strategic oversight of financial aid and student accounts operations.
  • Ensure enrollment strategies align with institutional aid policies and financial sustainability.
  • Monitor scholarship utilization, discount rates, net tuition revenue, and financial aid awarding practices.
  • Promote a student-centered approach that helps students and families understand the cost of attendance and available financial resources.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.

Registrar Services

  • Oversee registrar operations and student records management.
  • Ensure compliance with academic policies, FERPA regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Promote efficient processes supporting registration, academic records, graduation certification, and student success.

High School Opportunity Programs

  • Provide leadership for High School Opportunity Programs meeting all grant requirements as outlined by federal and state requirements.
  • Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and funding agencies to enhance recruitment pipelines to these programs.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Build and lead a high-performing enrollment services team.
  • Foster collaboration among enrollment, academic affairs, training, student affairs, marketing, institutional effectiveness, and finance.
  • Promote a culture of service excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop policies, procedures, and operational practices that enhance efficiency.
  • Support institutional accreditation efforts and data reporting requirements., * The Vice President for Enrollment Management will be expected to:
  • Meet or exceed annual new student enrollment goals.
  • Successfully implement and assess the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan.
  • Improve inquiry-to-application, application-to-admit, and admit-to-enroll conversion rates.
  • Strengthen enrollment forecasting and predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Improve coordination among admissions, registrar, financial aid, student accounts, and opportunity programs as well as make continuous improvement in process improvement and the automation of processes.
  • Enhance the overall student enrollment experience from first contact through matriculation and persistence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible leadership experience in admissions, enrollment management, higher education administration, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding enrollment and recruitment goals.
  • Significant experience leading admissions and recruitment teams.
  • Experience developing enrollment strategies informed by data and market analysis.
  • Experience managing enrollment technologies, CRM platforms, and enrollment reporting systems.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and develop practical solutions.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across departments and constituencies.
  • Ability to lead through change while maintaining a student-centered focus.
  • Commitment to student success., * Experience in a private college or university environment.
  • Experience serving first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented student populations.
  • Knowledge of enrollment analytics, financial aid, student accounts, and registrar operations.
  • Experience with strategic enrollment planning and predictive modeling.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms, student information systems, and enrollment communication technologies.
