Job description
Join our innovative engineering team as an FPGA Engineer, where you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and testing cutting-edge programmable logic solutions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex system development projects that integrate FPGA technology with embedded systems, signal processing, and communications. You will play a vital role in advancing our technological capabilities by leveraging your expertise in digital design, hardware integration, and system verification to deliver high-performance solutions that meet rigorous industry standards., * Design, implement, and optimize FPGA architectures using SystemVerilog and VHDL to support diverse engineering applications.
- Develop detailed electrical schematics and PCB layouts for embedded systems, ensuring compliance with electrical codes such as NEC and NFPA 70.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate FPGA modules with SoC (System on Chip) components, microcontrollers like ARM and Arduino, and programmable logic controllers for industrial automation.
- Conduct root cause analysis during debugging sessions to troubleshoot hardware and firmware issues efficiently.
- Utilize simulation tools such as Simulink and MATLAB to verify system performance and validate design specifications before manufacturing.
- Perform system development verification through rigorous testing procedures, including electrical system testing, signal processing validation, and control systems evaluation.
- Support manufacturing processes by preparing CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks; oversee PCB design and surface mount technology assembly.
- Engage in engineering troubleshooting for complex electronics design challenges involving surface mount components, soldering techniques, and electrical schematic review.
- Apply scripting languages like Python and Perl to automate testing routines or data analysis workflows for enhanced efficiency.
- Contribute to firmware development in C++, C++, or scripting environments to optimize embedded system performance within industrial automation contexts.
Requirements
- Proven experience in FPGA design and implementation using SystemVerilog or VHDL within an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of electronics design principles including PCB layout, electrical schematic creation, and surface mount technology assembly.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools and methodologies to manage multiple complex projects effectively.
- Hands-on experience with signal processing techniques, control systems, and communications systems engineering.
- Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink for system modeling and verification purposes.
- Practical knowledge of electrical building codes (NEC), NFPA 70 compliance standards, and safety protocols related to electrical systems.
- Skilled in debugging hardware/software issues using oscilloscopes (like Ohmmeters), logic analyzers, or other diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work with CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or SolidWorks for detailed engineering drawings.
- Experience programming embedded systems using ARM architecture or microcontrollers like Arduino; familiarity with firmware development is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills in root cause analysis combined with effective problem-solving abilities across electronic circuit design and system troubleshooting tasks.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating across multidisciplinary teams on system design verification and project execution.
