- Develop, maintain, and enhance production-grade dashboards and reports using Microsoft native tools such as Power BI.
- Facilitate stakeholder review sessions, incorporating feedback into iterative design cycles (Agile/Scrum preferred).
- Document business requirements, data definitions, dashboard specifications, and change logs to maintain a clear audit trail.
- Present findings, insights, and recommendations to both technical teams and executive leadership in a clear, actionable format.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on data-driven decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and self-service analytics adoption across the organization.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and governance standards are upheld across all analytical products.
- Mentor junior analysts on best practices in requirements gathering, data storytelling, and dashboard design.

As part of the Energy, Resilience and Sustainability (ERS) Division, you will collaborate with experts to provide comprehensive policy, planning, and implementation services to deliver solutions that address critical infrastructure resilience and security, and data management issues and support the military mission, while reducing environmental impacts. The Senior Database Engineer/Specialist will serve as a critical liaison between internal and external stakeholders and technical teams. This individual will lead requirements gathering sessions, perform in-depth data analysis, design and build rapid prototypes and interactive dashboards, and manage relationships with stakeholders across the organization. The ideal candidate is equal parts analytical thinker, communicator, and builder - someone who can uncover the “why” behind a business problem and deliver a data-driven “how.”, * Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 6+ years of experience in business/data analysis, with demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and stakeholder management.
- Proven experience building dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or Qlik.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
- Experience developing prototypes or wireframes to validate analytical solutions prior to full development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with experience documenting requirements and specifications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card (CAC).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security Clearance.
- Independently manage tasks from requirement through implementation.
- Proactively resolving challenges with minimal oversight.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work across technical and business teams., * Active Secret Security Clearance.
- Master’s degree in a related quantitative or business field.
- Experience with scripting/programming languages such as Python or R for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, AzureDevOps).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Background in facilitating workshops or design-thinking sessions (e.g., JAD sessions).
- Certification in business analysis (CBAP, PMI-PBA) or data visualization (Power BI). CompTIA Security+.
- Experience in defense industry.
