Job description

The Director, Finance Systems leads the Finance business strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of the technology, data, reporting, and processes that enable TAIT’s global Finance organization. The role owns Finance capability and technology demand, optimizes the current Epicor environment, leads Finance through the selection, implementation, user acceptance testing, and data validation of the next-generation ERP platform, and leads Finance participation and requirements within the cross-functional Professional Services Automation (PSA) and Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) programs.

In close partnership with the VP, Enterprise Applications, the Director serves as Finance’s senior business owner for ERP and Finance applications contributing to the company’s Technology Roadmap to ensure the roadmap reflects Finance value, GTS Capacity, enterprise architecture and operational sustainability. Within Finance-owned platforms, the role leads Finance process and control requirements, data definitions, testing, and adoption; GTS leads architecture, integrations, cybersecurity, environments, deployment, and technical operations. For cross-functional platforms, business-process ownership and decision rights remain with the relevant operational owner.

The Director partners across the connected quote-to-project-to-cash landscape and leads Finance requirements and Finance acceptance for PSA and CPQ. Salesforce CRM involvement is limited to changes affecting Finance processes, controls, data, reporting, or integrations.

Responsibilities:

Finance Technology Strategy & Governance

  • Develop and maintain a multi-year Finance Technology Roadmap in partnership with the company’s transformation architect, ensuring alignment with TAIT’s target operating model, strategy, growth priorities, Finance operating model, control requirements, and reporting needs.

  • Establish governance for initiative intake, manage prioritization, investment, decision rights, risk, benefits realization, and performance measurement.

  • Evaluate emerging Finance technologies, automation, analytics, and AI; develop business cases and recommend investments that improve efficiency, scalability, control, and user experience.

ERP Leadership & Transformation

  • Serve as the Finance business owner for Epicor, driving stabilization, optimization, adoption, and reduction of manual workarounds.

  • Lead Finance through the evaluation, selection, design, implementation, stabilization, and continuous improvement of TAIT’s next-generation ERP solution.

  • Direct Finance workstreams include process design, operating model, requirements, chart of accounts, master data, migration, testing, user acceptance, training, change management, cutover, and hypercare.

  • Ensure ERP capabilities support Accounting, Project Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Procurement, Fixed Assets, operational interfaces, and executive reporting.

Finance Partnership for PSA, CPQ & CRM Integration

  • Represent Finance in the PSA program and define Finance requirements for downstream accounting, billing, revenue recognition, project financial reporting, margin visibility, controls, Finance data, and ERP integration.

  • Lead Finance requirements for CPQ, including Finance data, costing inputs, margin visibility, tax and accounting treatment, financial-control requirements, and downstream ERP and reporting needs.

  • Partner with Sales, Commercial, Project Management, Operations, GTS, and platform owners to establish reliable integrations across Salesforce, CPQ, PSA, ERP, and reporting. Contribute to Salesforce CRM changes only where Finance impacts exist.

  • Identify opportunities to eliminate manual steps, disconnected workflows, and collaboration-platform workarounds.

Finance Systems Operations & Portfolio Management

  • Lead the operating model and continuous improvement of Finance applications and Finance-owned ERP, planning, reporting, and workflow capabilities. For PSA and CPQ, manage Finance requirements, controls, data, testing, and downstream integrations in partnership with the operational business owners.

  • Ensure system reliability, data integrity, appropriate access, issue resolution, user satisfaction, and controlled change in partnership with GTS and business platform owners.

  • Manage the Finance application portfolio, licensing, vendors, implementation partners, budgets, contracts, product backlogs, and return on investment.

Finance & GTS Partnership

  • Translate Finance strategy and process needs into defined business outcomes, requirements, functional designs, and acceptance criteria for GTS, business platform owners, and delivery partners.

  • Maintain clear responsibilities and decision rights. For ERP and Finance-owned applications, Finance leads Finance processes, controls, data, requirements, testing, and adoption. For PSA and CPQ, Finance leads only Finance requirements and acceptance. GTS leads architecture, integrations, security, environments, deployment, and technical operations.

  • Represent Finance in technology governance and steering forums, communicating priorities, dependencies, decisions, risks, and outcomes to senior stakeholders.

Data, Controls, Reporting & Innovation

  • Establish governance for Finance data and master data, including finance data ownership, definitions, quality, reconciliation, migration, reporting, and KPI standards.

  • Ensure Finance applications support accounting policy, internal controls, segregation of duties, audit evidence, and regulatory compliance; support audit activity and remediation.

  • Improve reporting and self-service analytics, and automate close, planning, reconciliations, workflows, and high-volume activities, applying responsible AI where value and controls are clear.

Change, Adoption & Business Integration

  • Lead communications, role-based training, documentation, super-user networks, adoption measurement, and standardization of end-to-end Finance processes.

  • Oversee Finance systems integration of existing and newly acquired entities, including financial structures, data, controls, reporting, migration, validation, readiness, cutover, and hypercare.

People Leadership & Team Development

  • Directly manage and develop the Financial Systems Accountant and Finance Systems Analyst, providing clear objectives, prioritization, coaching, and performance feedback.

  • Build the Finance Systems team’s capabilities and the broader network of process owners, subject-matter experts, and super-users as needs mature.

  • Foster a service-oriented culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while balancing operational support with strategic transformation .

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Finance systems, ERP, enterprise applications, or Finance transformation, including 5+ years leading teams, major programs, or cross-functional initiatives.

  • Demonstrated leadership of at least one enterprise ERP implementation, major upgrade, or comparable Finance-led business transformation.

  • Strong understanding of general ledger, close, consolidation, project accounting, revenue recognition, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, fixed assets, reporting, and internal controls.

  • Strong understanding of end-to-end quote-to-cash and project-to-cash processes and their Finance dependencies, including how project, time and expense, forecast, costing, pricing, billing, revenue recognition, margin, and master data flow between CRM, CPQ, PSA, ERP, and reporting platforms.
