Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Power BI / Microsoft Fabric Data Engineer to support the implementation and enhancement of enterprise Microsoft Fabric and Power BI reporting solutions. The role will focus on dimensional and semantic data modeling, advanced DAX development, Fabric data engineering, notebook-based transformations, and enterprise reporting., * Design and implement scalable dimensional and semantic models using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

  • Develop Star Schema, Snowflake Schema, Fact and Dimension models, including complex dimensions.
  • Analyze existing datasets and improve model scalability, usability, and performance.
  • Build and maintain Microsoft Fabric solutions including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Dataflows, Pipelines, and Semantic Models.
  • Develop Python and SQL notebooks for data preparation, transformation, and integration.
  • Integrate data from multiple source systems for reporting and analytics.
  • Develop complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and analytical calculations.
  • Optimize Power BI models, relationships, queries, and report performance.
  • Build and enhance executive and operational Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Translate business requirements into intuitive reports and actionable visualizations.
  • Manage Power BI workspaces, publishing, report distribution, and user access.
  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and security group-based access controls.
  • Support Report Builder and Paginated Reports where required.
  • Assist with migration of existing reporting solutions to Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Power BI development experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with advanced DAX.
  • Strong experience with:
  • Dimensional Data Modeling
  • Star and Snowflake Schemas
  • Fact & Dimension Modeling
  • Complex Dimensions
  • Semantic Model Design
  • Performance Optimization
  • Hands-on experience implementing and developing solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Strong experience with Python and SQL notebooks.
  • Experience designing enterprise-scale reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Strong understanding of data integration and transformation patterns.
  • Experience working with complex and highly related datasets.
  • Ability to quickly understand existing data environments and contribute with minimal ramp-up.
  • Strong Power BI experience including report development, semantic models, workspace management, and publishing.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and converting them into dashboards and reporting solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience migrating reporting assets to Power BI / Microsoft Fabric.
  • Databricks experience.
  • Experience with Power BI Report Builder and Paginated Reports.
  • Experience implementing Row-Level Security and group-based access controls.
  • Experience with Power BI Report Server., The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, DAX, dimensional modeling, SQL, and Python, with the ability to design scalable enterprise reporting and data engineering solutions while working closely with business and technical stakeholders.
