1 Hands-on SAP Material Ledger implementation - activation, actual costing run, multi-level price determination, periodic unit price, cost component split. A hard requirement. 2 Product Cost Controlling depth - costing variants/estimates, costing sheets, WIP, variance calculation, order settlement. 3 Replacing a spreadsheet costing process - codifying multi-tier allocation into a governed system layer, with a six-month parallel run to sign-off. 4 Margin analysis and finance-facing communication - account-based CO-PA design, explaining costing results to CFO-level stakeholders. Role Overview Actual cost today is produced entirely in Excel, with product-number conversion, variance allocation, series derivation and averaging maintained by a few individuals - long close, thin audit trail, real key-person risk. Target: SAP Material Ledger actual costing in collection-only mode, with periodic unit price rolled up through the BOM for management reporting while inventory/COGS stay at standard cost, validated via a six-month parallel run. Key Responsibilities

• Lead Controlling validation workshops with the manufacturing controller and finance leadership; produce signed-off functional design.
• Configure ML actual costing in collection-only mode (activation, valuation setup, price determination), excluding post-closing.
• Design periodic unit price/multi-level roll-up and the actual cost component split through allocation and reporting.
• Retain standard-costing foundation and design cost object controlling (order costing, WIP, variance, settlement).
• Map the nine cost-variance GL accounts onto standard variance categories and ML cost components; design business-specific allocation logic.
• BATCH MANAGEMENT & TRACEABILITY - PREFERRED, NOT REQUIRED Actual-costing scope is item-level, not batch-level. Understanding how batch valuation interacts with Material Ledger, and how scrap/yield flow into production-order variance, helps integration with manufacturing/inventory workstreams.

• 8+ years SAP Controlling consulting, 5+ full-lifecycle, hands-on Product Cost Controlling config; 2+ on S/4HANA (1909+).
• Hands-on SAP Material Ledger implementation - activation, actual costing run, price determination, CKM3N/CKMVFM. Hard requirement.
• Deep Product Cost Planning/Cost Object Controlling expertise; account-based CO-PA / margin analysis experience on S/4HANA.

• Proven replacement of a spreadsheet finance process via a formal parallel run; strong CO-FI-MM-PP integration and SOX/J-SOX experience. Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual English/Japanese; prior Japan delivery, incl. Japanese management-accounting conventions and J-SOX practice.
• Costing allocation logic in governed BW/SAP BTP reporting rather than bespoke ABAP; SAC/SAP Business Data Cloud.
• Group Reporting, Universal Parallel Accounting; electronics/high-mix discrete manufacturing cost structures; S/4HANA Controlling certification.
