Job description

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Databricks Engineer in Charlotte, NC for a 12 month contract, open to Contract to Hire role. The schedule is 2 days onsite for Contract to Hire with Wednesday mandatory. If straight contract, then must be onsite 5 days a week. The hours: 8am - 4pm with some flexibility on start and end time. Overview: The client is seeking a hands-on Senior Data Engineer to support high-priority enterprise data and analytics initiatives. This role is approximately 90% engineering and 10% business interaction and requires someone who can work independently, ask the right questions, and recommend effective technical solutions. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and support new and existing data applications and integrations
  • Build, enhance and optimize data solutions using Azure Databricks
  • Work with architects, analysts and data scientists on data products and analytics
  • Design and review technical/data-flow solutions
  • Perform code reviews, testing, deployment and production support
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide technical guidance on complex data solutions
  • Maintain technical documentation for downstream integrations
  • Identify technology trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in Scrum/Sprint activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
  • 5-10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Integration or Data Warehousing
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Databricks
  • Strong understanding of the Azure ecosystem
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Experience with Python or Scala
  • Practical data modeling experience, including understanding the impact of data models on KPIs
  • Experience with on-premises ETL/ERP technologies such as Informatica, IICS, Cognos, Netezza or similar platforms
  • Experience with Power BI, Azure ML, Databricks, Synapse or similar analytics platforms
  • Visa sponsorship is available for this position
  • Azure DevOps and GitHub experience preferred

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
