Job description

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it’s modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. While working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to solve big picture challenges.

The Cloud Sales Finance team serves as the strategic financial partner to the Americas Sales organization, dedicated to accelerating profitable growth. We provide actionable, data-driven insights to steer critical business decisions, from long-range planning to individual agreement profitability. Through performance management, strategic investment frameworks, and a focus on operational excellence, we empower our sales partners to achieve their goals and drive long-term value for Google Cloud.

And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $141000 - $205000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive financial analysis while developing and maintaining business forecasting models. Prepare executive-level reports, conduct variance analysis, and leverage market trends to guide decision-making and performance improvement.

  • Collaborate with the sales, pricing, DPO, and accounting team and provide financial guidance to support the agreement making process.

  • Evaluate investments and concession requests through financial modeling and risk assessment, providing recommendations to optimize resources and maximize ROI.

  • Serve as a financial advisor to the subregion leadership team, translating financial data into actionable business insights to drive sustainable growth and profitability.

Requirements

Experience driving progress, solving problems, and mentoring more junior team members; deeper expertise and applied knowledge within relevant area., + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 7 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function.

  • Experience in full-cycle financial planning and analysis including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling.

  • Experience with programming (e.g., SQL).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in spend management and budget planning cycles.

  • Experience in leadership, setting objectives, delivering results, and building relationships across organizational boundaries.

  • Knowledge of the Cloud/Software industry, different roles and incentives.

  • Ability to self-direct work in an unstructured, changing environment; comfortable with ambiguity.

  • Investigative and technical skills (e.g., spreadsheets/ SQL/ dashboard creation).

  • Excellent communication and people-management skills, including regular presentations to executive management.
