Job description

We are currently hiring a Software Engineer for a short term contract in Newport News, VA. This position will be mostly remote, with the expectation to come onsite 1-2 times a month. So you need to live within a decent driving distance.

Requirements

US Citizenship.
BS Degree.
5 years of relevant work experience.

Core Technical Skills

ASP.NET WebForms - Deep understanding of page lifecycle, server controls, view state, and event-driven programming.
.NET Framework 4.7 - Proficiency in C# or VB.NET, understanding of .NET ecosystem.
SQL Server - T-SQL, stored procedures, database design, query optimization.
ADO.NET - DataSet, DataReader, connection management.
NestJS - TypeScript-based backend framework, dependency injection, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture.
Angular - TypeScript-based frontend framework, components, services, reactive programming.
TypeScript - Strong typing and modern JavaScript features.
Node.js - Runtime environment and npm ecosystem

Web Technologies

HTML/CSS/JavaScript - Client-side development and integration with server controls.
AJAX - Asynchronous operations and partial page updates.
JSON/XML - Data serialization and exchange formats

Development Environment

Visual Studio - IDE proficiency for debugging and development.
SQL Server Management Studio - Database administration and querying.
Source Control - Git, TFS, or similar version control systems

Database & Architecture

Database Design - Normalization, indexing, relationships.
Stored Procedures & Functions - Server-side data logic.
Performance Tuning - Query optimization, connection pooling

Container Skills

Docker - Containerization, image creation, orchestration.
Kubernetes - Container orchestration and deployment management.
CI/CD Integration - Container pipelines and deployment strategies.
