Job description
- Collaborate with internal application teams to implement coding changes in COBOL and ADS programs
- Work with both IDMS Network and IDMS Relational databases
- Analyze technical and design specifications to develop solutions
- Perform debugging, unit testing, and integration testing
- Support QA, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and external testing cycles by resolving defects
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and stakeholders
- Work collaboratively with distributed teams and external vendors
- Participate in on-call support rotation
Requirements
Do you have experience in Mainframe development?, Do you have a Associate’s degree?, The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in COBOL-based mainframe systems, strong debugging skills, and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams., * 10+ years of experience with Mainframe systems
- 10+ years of experience with MVS COBOL
- 10+ years of experience with JCL (Job Control Language)
- 10+ years of experience with IDMS (Network Database), * 7+ years of experience with CA-ADS
- 5+ years of experience with Changeman
- 5+ years of experience with CICS
- 5+ years of experience with VSAM
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAS
- Familiarity with File-AID
- Knowledge of Medicaid or Medicare claims processing systems
- Experience with MQ (Messaging Queues)
- Exposure to Endevor
- Experience with Xpeditor
Soft Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Adaptability and flexibility in dynamic environments
- Self-motivated with strong ownership mindset
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Effective time management
- Ability to work under pressure in high-demand environments, * Education: Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience, * Extensive experience working in legacy mainframe environments
- Strong background in healthcare or public sector systems (preferred)
- Ability to manage end-to-end development and support lifecycle
- Comfortable working in production support and on-call environments
