Job description

We’re looking for a mid-level Cloud Data Engineer who brings deep hands-on expertise in Snowflake, advanced SQL, Python, and Coalesce to build scalable, high-quality data solutions. In this role, you will design and optimize cloud data transformations, automate workflows, and translate business requirements into reliable engineering outcomes. This is an onsite role based in UPC, ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment and takes pride in getting it right the first time.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions using Snowflake, with strong focus on SQL development, warehousing concepts, and workload management.

  • Develop robust data transformation pipelines in Coalesce to support analytics, reporting, and downstream business use cases.

  • Build and enhance Python-based applications, including Streamlit solutions, to support data workflows, usability, and business insights.

  • Write high-quality, performant SQL using advanced joins, window functions, CTEs, and other optimization techniques.

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into effective, maintainable data solutions.

  • Apply strong data engineering fundamentals to support data ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery.

  • Use Git for version control, branching, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.

  • Drive automation across engineering processes to reduce manual effort and improve speed, quality, and repeatability.

  • Support production stability by building with a zero-defect, first-time-right mindset and proactively resolving issues before they impact delivery.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and team collaboration to strengthen engineering excellence across the function.

  • Where applicable, leverage Snowflake advanced capabilities such as Streams/Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Snowpipe, External Tables, and Zero-Copy Cloning.

  • Partner across teams working in broader cloud ecosystems such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, including storage and access control patterns.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of experience in SQL and Snowflake development.

  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience building transformations in Coalesce.

  • 2+ years of experience in Python, including Streamlit development.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in Snowflake, including SQL development, data warehousing concepts, and workload management.

  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, CTEs, and performance tuning considerations.

  • Experience using Git for source control and collaborative engineering practices.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate business needs into technical data solutions.

  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and core data engineering fundamentals.

  • Demonstrated automation mindset with a passion for improving efficiency and eliminating manual work.

  • Strong collaboration, documentation, and knowledge-sharing skills.

  • Proven commitment to quality, with experience delivering stable, production-ready solutions.

  • Good-to-have exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, including object storage and IAM patterns.

  • Nice to have familiarity with event streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Event Hubs, and CDC tools.

  • Exposure to reporting and visualization technologies is a plus.

  • GenAI development exposure, including tools or platforms such as COCO or Copilot, is an advantage.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred., In accordance with federal law, only applicants who are legally authorized to work in the United States will be considered for this position. Must reside in the United States or have a valid U.S. address for residence.
