Job description

  • Implement bare-metal SMP MCP OS architectural framework, processor bring-up, bootloader
  • Ensure deterministic operation in safety-critical avionics applications
  • Implement novel communications protocols like TSN, PCIe, AFDX, etc.
  • Evaluate and produce reports for SoC fit-for-purpose and sufficiency use-cases in safety-critical avionics systems
  • Develop novel MCP test environments and methodologies for DO-178C Software Level A compliance, python skills, ARM DS IDE and Dstream
  • Perform complex analyses like WCET, DCCC, etc. *

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with a strong embedded software development background.
  • 5+ years of experience developing embedded software solutions.
  • Experience integrating and testing functionality directly on target hardware.
  • Fluent in the C/C++ language with exposure to assembly language programming.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to proactively communicate with team members on a regular basis to maximize team productivity.
  • Strong technical communication and writing skills with demonstrated ability to clearly describe planned technical solutions, convey/track development progress, and document complex issues identified during troubleshooting efforts.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in aviation-related embedded control systems, including familiarity with systems such as flight controls, engine controls, or mission systems.
  • Experience with multi-tasking and multi-core software execution environments.
  • Experience with ARM cores, ARM tools, and software supporting ARM IP such as GIC, CoreLink, & TrustZone.
  • Experience developing processor support packages, board support packages, and low-level hardware device drivers.
  • Experience with various communication interfaces such as Ethernet, Mil-Std-1553B, ARINC-429, & Time-Sensitive Networking.
  • Experience with various board internal digital buses such as PCI Express, SPI, QSPI, & AXI.
  • Experience with safety critical development processes such as ARP4754, DO-178B/C, DO-254, & ISO-26262.
  • Experience with software security concepts such as secure boot, isolated execution of software from secure and non-secure domains, and secure communication protocols.
  • Strong technical documentation skills with the ability to generate documentation that clearly captures software architecture and design details.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Cross-domain knowledge / perspective on engineering disciplines beyond software engineering such as analog/digital circuit design, FPGA-based firmware logic design, and systems engineering.

Experience in very low, processor level software development to

  • Create and execute SoC benchmarking procedures
  • Configure, enable, and develop SoC features (NXP S32 family, S32G2 specifically but not limited to S32G2 and/or LayerScape family, LS-1046A specifically)
  • Mitigate multi-core interference risks
