Job description
Apply computer science and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate embedded software and systems Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software Work applies to medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, business, scientific, and general computing applications Design and implement embedded device software from requirements through production and commercial deployment Write logical and physical database descriptions and specify database identifiers to management systems (or direct others in coding) Analyze and enhance system efficiency, stability, and scalability Review project requests to estimate time and cost required Develop assigned features Test assigned features Debug issues on assigned features Review assigned features Daily standups with global team Daily local interactions with architects and developers Agile Development Team with architects, developers, and testers in US and India Global development cycle with both design collaboration and solo development Opportunities to use leading-edge agentic software development frameworks and tools 5 days/week on-site in Mossville, IL (Building AC) Work on next-gen technology advances in service technology for enhanced customer/dealer technician experience Fast-paced, collaborative environment with a great team
Requirements
Must Have Skills/Attributes: Embedded C++, GIT, Linux
Experience Desired: C++ development (4 yrs); Embedded Software Development (4 yrs); Agentic Workflow Development (4 yrs)
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a relevant field required Internships accepted as job experience - Yes Associates degree with 6 years of experience accepted Master’s degree with 2 years of experience accepted
Required Skills C++ ‘14 Embedded Software Development Agentic Workflow Development Solid programming experience in C or C++ Knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software Knowledge of computer development software for embedded systems (e.g., SQL, VisualBasic) Basic knowledge of the full software development lifecycle (business/systems analysis ? requirements ? functional specs ? development ? testing ? delivery) Basic ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed
Technical Skills (Desired - not required): Linux-based development environment GIT version control system Caterpillar Remote Service Experience Caterpillar Machine/Engine Experience
Soft Skills (Required): Expert verbal and written communication Problem-solving skills Customer service and interpersonal skills
