Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support electrical engineering and construction activities on large-scale data center projects across Wisconsin. These projects are fast-paced, high-visibility, and mission-critical-supporting some of the most advanced technology and digital infrastructure in the region.

In this role, you will assist with planning, coordination, and execution of electrical systems from early design through commissioning. You’ll manage technical documentation, support procurement efforts, track project progress, and ensure field operations align with project specifications, safety standards, schedule milestones, and quality expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who want hands-on exposure to cutting-edge electrical systems, high-density power distribution, and large industrial construction while contributing to the rapid buildout of Wisconsin’s growing data center footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and construction efforts for major data center campuses by managing electrical drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.

  • Maintain organized project logs and documentation to ensure accurate and real-time tracking.

  • Collaborate with vendors, engineers, GC/CM teams, and field supervisors to ensure seamless information flow and timely decision-making.

  • Participate in BIM/VDC coordination, assisting with model updates, clash detection, and design modifications common in data center environments.

  • Support electrical constructability reviews and help ensure field installations align with engineered plans.

  • Assist with cost development, budgeting, procurement, and quantity tracking to support project financial goals.

  • Help manage job billing and estimation specific to complex data center electrical systems.

  • Contribute to field coordination efforts, ensuring schedule alignment and quality compliance.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and technical drawings.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, Revit, Navisworks, or similar construction software is highly valued.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and analytical problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with field teams, engineering staff, vendors, and general contractors.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Education & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

  • Experience in electrical contracting or electrical engineering preferred.

  • Experience working on data centers, mission-critical facilities, high-tech infrastructure, or large industrial projects is a strong plus.

  • Interest in learning high-volume power distribution, complex MEP coordination, and advanced digital infrastructure systems.
