Z/OS Network Systems Programmer

AgreeYa is a global Systems Integrator and is seeking an experienced Z/OS Network Systems Programmer to support complex mainframe systems programming and database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with IBM z/OS networking, mainframe hardware, and enterprise database platforms. This role will support the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and enhancements of core system and database software products in alignment with the database architecture and business requirements., * Plan, install, configure, test, implement, maintain, and enhance core mainframe system and database software products.

• Manage and support hierarchical (IMS), relational (DB2), and file-based (ADABAS) database environments.
• Plan and execute database upgrades and verify the health and operational status of database environments.
• Provide technical consulting to application development and operations teams for project planning and development activities.
• Perform production database maintenance and provide technical support for existing database environments.
• Conduct technical reviews of systems utilizing ADABAS, DB2, or IMS database management systems.
• Evaluate and fine-tune existing DBMS software and provide recommendations for new DBMS technologies when appropriate.
• Consult with development teams on database design and develop logical and physical database designs.
• Create logical database design overviews and physical databases.
• Perform database capacity planning, performance monitoring, and space monitoring.
• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.
• Perform database reorganizations, replication, compression, and partitioning activities.
• Support mainframe networking and hardware environments, including HCD, IODF, z/OSMF, LU 6.2, DS8884, and TS7760C.

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Systems Programmer and/or DBA, including at least 3 years in a lead role.
• 5+ years of experience with z/OS Networking, HCD, IODF, z/OSMF, SMP/E, LU 6.2, and mainframe hardware.
• Experience in DS8884 and TS7760C hardware management.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM z/OS, IMS, DB2, ADABAS, SMP/E, JCL, IMS DB/DC, and CICS.
• Experience with ACF2, IBM File Manager, DELTA/IMS, NATURAL/SUPERNAT, EntireX, CA Spool, IMS & DB2 BMC Tools, and N20/TRIM.
• Experience with ASSEMBLER, COBOL, and REXX in IBM mainframe environments.
• Strong understanding of database administration, including capacity planning, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, space management, reorganization, replication, compression, and partitioning.
• Ability to provide technical consultation and recommendations to application development and operations teams.
• Experience supporting complex legacy mainframe environments and performing technical duties independently.

Education Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related or engineering field.
