Job description

A leading global education and publishing company that creates books, digital learning platforms, and educational technology used by millions of students, teachers, and families is looking for a QA Tester to help ensure the quality and reliability of its web-based applications and internal platforms. In this role, you’ll be responsible for primarily manual testing across a variety of web applications while also contributing to an expanding automation effort using Cypress. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Software Engineers, and other QA professionals to validate new features, identify defects early in the development lifecycle, and ensure high-quality releases. While this position is heavily focused on exploratory, functional, regression, and user acceptance testing, you’ll also have the opportunity to create and maintain automated test cases that improve testing efficiency over time. The ideal candidate is naturally curious, detail-oriented, and enjoys balancing hands-on manual testing with modern automation practices.

  • Develop and maintain Cypress automated test scripts for critical user workflows
  • Validate new features, enhancements, bug fixes, and production releases through comprehensive regression testing
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and reproduce software defects while partnering closely with Engineering teams to drive resolution
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Developers, and QA team members to ensure complete test coverage and high-quality releases
  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness activities while continuously improving testing processes and automation coverage

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing
  • Strong experience performing manual testing of web applications
  • Hands-on experience creating or maintaining automated test scripts using Cypress
  • Experience executing functional, regression, smoke, integration, and user acceptance testing
  • Experience writing detailed test cases, test plans, and defect documentation
  • Experience working with defect tracking and project management tools such as Jira
  • Familiarity with browser developer tools for troubleshooting application issues
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile development methodologies
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Experience testing React, Angular, or other modern web applications
  • Familiarity with API testing using Postman or similar tools
  • Experience validating responsive web applications across multiple browsers and devices
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated testing best practices
  • Experience working alongside developers in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software
