GIS Technician

• Support the creation of designs in various applications/software including ESRI/GIS, Visio, AutoCAD, MapCom.
• Develop and issue work prints for utility networks.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Construction teams
• Prepares maps, diagrams, and drawings for installation and construction routes
• Create funding documents/work packages listing applicable units, bill of materials (BOMS) and applicable purchase requisitions.
• Ensure designs of facilities are performed in accordance with Company system practices, RUS requirements and requirements of Federal, State and local governing authorities
• Provide any documentation required for the cost-effective placement of communication facilities
• Coordinate and ensure proper utility locating has occurred

• CAD or GIS experience preferred.
• Knowledge of MapInfo, ESRI/GIS, Visio, AutoCAD, MapCom is preferred.
• Strong preference for AutoCAD proficiency and/or experience.
• Strong organizational skills and experience with Excel and Word.
• Effective communication skills and professional accountability.
