Job description
The Network Administrator is responsible for the health of the network infrastructure and works alongside the Sr. Network Engineers to support and monitor the organization’s IT network as well as perform needed upgrades and maintenance. This includes supporting all network hardware, monitoring platforms and connectivity.
Monitor networks to ensure security and performance.
Analyze, isolate, and resolve network, data, and wireless issues.
Use approved configuration management (STIGS) when configuring networking equipment.
Run cable through varies areas and setup new ports.
Assist Sr. Network Engineers, as needed, with the following: Maintain network infrastructure, routers, switches, iOS updates and patches.
Install and support of LANs, WANs, network segments, VLANS, Internet, and intra-net systems.
Upgrade, install and troubleshoot networks, networking hardware devices and software.
Serve as primary support for emergency outages, scheduled outages, and other emergent IT situations.
Maintain inventory of network equipment and parts as well as documentation of network configurations.
Recommend and schedule repairs to the LAN/WAN.
Be able to work as a team with other cross functional teams to achieve goals/projects.
Provide implementation support for projects and new services.
Be able to follow policies and procedures.
Perform all other duties as assigned. Education and Work Experience Requirements: 8383 Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Requirements
High school diploma/GED plus 10 years of experience, or Associate’s-level (AA/ AS/Technical school) plus 4 years of experience.
Must be able to be granted a security clearance and maintain one for the duration of employment.
Must be able to work onsite - This position is not remote work eligible.
Experience with Cisco products including routers, switches, wireless, and other products is essential.
Windows Operating System and Security+ required within 6 months of start date to comply with DoD 8140.
Must be willing and able to work after hours/weekend support for patching and maintenance as needed.
Excellent communication skills and able to liaison with outside agencies and ability to work independently.
Possess professionalism, courtesy, high moral character, and integrity.
Physical Requirements: Ability to bend, reach and frequently lift items up to 5 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Frequently reach (overhead), handle, and feel with hands and arms.
Stand and sit for prolonged periods of time.
Occasionally stoop, kneel, and crouch.
Desired Skills: Cisco Certified Network Associate {CCNA). Cisco Certified Network Professional {CCNP).
- 1 x implementation experience.
Benefits & conditions
Salary: the expected pay range for this position is $70,304 to $89,440 but is subject to change. Security Clearance: Secret
