Senior Java Engineer

Experteer Overview In this role you will design, develop, and deliver enterprise-grade Java applications that power scalable, distributed systems. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust architectures and features. You’ll build microservices and REST APIs, and lead event-driven solutions using Kafka in a cloud environment. You will mentor peers, contribute to design decisions, and help improve the development lifecycle. Compensation / Benefits * Design and implement high-performance Java applications * Define architecture and technical solutions from business requirements * Develop scalable microservices and secure distributed systems * Build RESTful APIs and backend services with Java/Spring Boot * Develop and maintain event-driven applications using Apache Kafka * Participate in architecture discussions and propose improvements * Code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and enforcing coding standards * Support CI/CD implementations and deployment automation * Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, and DevOps throughout the SDLC * Develop user and technical documentation as needed * Stay current with emerging technologies and enhance technical expertise Tasks * 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience * Strong Spring Boot and enterprise Java frameworks experience * Hands-on C++ experience * 6+ years of Apache Kafka experience * Strong understanding of Microservices Architecture * Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP) * Experience building scalable, highly available systems * REST APIs and event-driven architecture expertise * Relational and/or NoSQL database experience * Knowledge of design patterns and OOP principles * Strong debugging and performance tuning skills * Git/Gitflow, Docker, Kubernetes * CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, or TFS) * Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence) * Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, engineering, or equivalent * Industry certifications in Java, Cloud, or Kubernetes are a plus * Experience in product development and eCommerce platforms * Experience with cloud-native development and container orchestration Key requirements * paid vacation * paid sick leave * paid holidays * 401(k) with employer matching * medical/dental/vision insurance * life and disability insurance
