Job description

Experteer Overview In this role you will provide technical leadership across Conagra’s engineering organization to optimize automation and control systems for manufacturing. You will partner with engineering and site stakeholders to evaluate requirements, drive capital projects, and implement best-in-class automation solutions. You will support FEL-based project development, system integration, and continuous improvement initiatives with a focus on reliability and economic feasibility. This position offers impact across manufacturing sites and opportunities to shape innovative, compliant automation programs. Compensation / Benefits * Partner with Platform Engineering to develop capital plans and recommend automation improvements * Support FEL1 and FEL3 estimation and technical assessments for capital projects * Evaluate and recommend best-in-class automation, controls, and integration solutions * Conduct factory infrastructure assessments for capital projects * Assist with preliminary capital and expense cost estimating * Collaborate with Project Managers to align design schedules with business objectives * Review performance criteria to ensure operational effectiveness and reliability * Support FAT and SAT activities for Process and Packaging Engineering * Identify prerequisites, risks, and optimization opportunities for projects * Develop functional control descriptions for manufacturing systems and unit operations * Create and review Technical Briefs for project teams * Develop Business Case Screening scopes and directional estimates * Maintain knowledge of industry regulations, codes, and standards for manufacturing automation * Provide technical and economic feasibility analyses for continuous improvement initiatives Tasks * Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science * 7+ years of experience in electrical and control system design * 5+ years of experience with Rockwell Automation control systems * Experience in the food industry preferred * Experience with operations and manufacturing conceptual design * Advanced knowledge of manufacturing automation systems (PLC, networking, VFDs, servo systems, HMI) * Expert-level experience with HMI visualization, database integration, and SQL Server * Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition, Rockwell, Aveva Wonderware, or similar platforms * Experience supporting advanced process and packaging controls (robotic packaging, batching, CIP) * Experience leading large-scale system integration projects and cross-functional initiatives * Knowledge of computer systems, networking, IT, and cybersecurity (preferred) * Proven track record in long-term strategy, roadmaps, and technical initiatives Key requirements * Health coverage * Bonus opportunity * 401(k) matching * Stock purchase plan * Tuition reimbursement * Paid-time off
