Fidessa Developer

Insight Global is seeking a Fidessa Developer to sit onsite in NYC or Jersey City with one of their largest financial institutional clients supporting a global, front-office equities trading team. This role is highly hands-on and development-focused, supporting critical trading infrastructure used across multiple regions. The developer will work extensively within the Fidessa platform, performing daily scripting and development while also contributing to a Java-based technology layer depending on project needs. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will support several active initiatives, including a major migration from a legacy Sybase database to Oracle, requiring strong object-oriented Java development skills. The role involves near 90% coding, 10% third level production support. This is a fast-paced, front-office environment with strong regulatory considerations, ideal for a developer with deep Fidessa expertise or closely related trading platform experience who wants to work on business-critical systems.

Hands-on Fidessa development experience (implementation or customization) Experience supporting front-office equities trading Strong TCL scripting experience within Fidessa Java (OOP) experience, particularly for system migrations Database migration experience (e.g., Sybase to Oracle) Experience working in regulated financial environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with FIX Protocol and Order Management Systems Python development experience Messaging technologies: IBM MQ, TIBCO, Kafka Linux OS experience and shell scripting Experience collaborating with global teams across time zones
