Job description
The Hardware in the Loop (HiL) Engineer supports the product development and system integration processes by developing test procedures for automated execution, implementing tests using Hardware in the Loop equipment, documenting and reviewing execution reports, reporting incidents, and tracking software updates to fix issues. The HiL Engineer develops expertise in software test design and has advanced knowledge in vehicle functional partitioning, electrical and communication architectures, Ford’s embedded software processes, and the Global Product Development System. This role requires close collaboration with feature owners, engineering, and suppliers to develop a strong understanding of the vehicle functions and implement appropriate test design strategies for early identification of defects and to provide evidence of defect elimination., * Test plan tracked in Jira
- Develop Automation for all Test Cases assigned utilizing given toolchain ( Eg. ECU Test)
- Develop dSPACE HIL Automation with dSPACE Tool Chain
- Test progress shall be reported in assigned Jira Task/Epic each time lab vehicle is booked.
- Develop/Document Test cases in TestRail per assigned Jira backlog definition
- Execute testing and generate Test reports per Feature per Test Round per Program
- Report defects in Jira and notify to Program Manager for triage
- Follow up on any retests associated to reported issue.
- Ensure traceability between Jira and Test Rail
- Demonstrate 100% Test Coverage for assigned Feature
- TC in Production Ready Status, appropriately stored in Git.
- Report Automation blockers to Vehicle Line Program Manager so appropriate instrumented parts can be acquired to unblock testing.
- Generate and report new Test Cases to achieve 100% Test Coverage for Assigned Feature.
- Support all testing 100% on site.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering or a related field with emphasis on control systems
· Experience with data analysis, scripting and modeling & simulation of dynamic systems using dSPACE Tool Chain, Python, Matlab, Simulink or Stateflow
· Experience with ECU Test tool chain
· Experience with dSPACE tool chain
· Vector CANAlzyer, CANAPE, CANOE
