Job description

This role is critical to protecting T-Mobile’s digital assets by designing, implementing, and strengthening data protection capabilities across software, systems, cloud platforms, endpoints, and infrastructure. The role requires a strong understanding of how data is created, classified, managed, stored, accessed, transmitted, and retained across the enterprise, as well as the ability to identify risk and recommend practical remediation strategies. The individual will conduct security assessments, evaluate data protection gaps, and partner with engineering, technology, and business teams to implement scalable controls across mobile devices, cloud services, networks, and enterprise applications. Experience with Microsoft Purview is required, along with broader knowledge of leading data loss prevention, data security, and cybersecurity technologies. The ideal candidate will also bring insight into emerging AI security practices, including risks associated with sensitive data used by generative AI and machine learning applications, and provide informed recommendations on tools, controls, and operating practices that support T-Mobile’s evolving security journey. Success will be measured by the effectiveness of security controls, reduction of data exposure and vulnerabilities, and the ability to drive timely, sustainable remediation of data protection risks., * Conducts security assessments and testing to identify and mitigate risks within current security tools, current AI, and emerging AI

  • Architects proactive security measures and strategies to enhance the security posture across various technologies including Microsoft Purview, Zscaler, and Island Browser
  • Collaborates with engineering teams to integrate security practices into data posture, data security, and implementation guidelines
  • Serves as an authority in cybersecurity, providing guidance and leadership to various business units
  • Drives strategic security initiatives to protect against cyber threats and ensure compliance with security standards
  • Evaluates new technologies and processes for potential security vulnerabilities and recommends corrective actions
  • Also responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree plus 7 years of related work experience OR Advanced degree with 5 years of related experience (Required)
  • Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Information Technology. (Required)
  • 7-10 years Conducting security assessments and vulnerability testing to identify and mitigate risks in digital environments (Preferred)
  • 7-10 years Developing and implementing cybersecurity measures across various technologies including mobile and IoT devices, cloud services, and network technologies (Preferred)
  • 7-10 years Leading and collaborating with engineering teams to enhance security postures and strategic cybersecurity initiatives (Preferred)

Corporate Bonus Target: 20%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year.
