Job description

This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Apalachee Correctional Institution. This role involves analyzing and designing technology solutions across various platforms while managing IT asset inventory and ensuring compliance with software licensing. It also includes evaluating new technologies, collaborating with stakeholders to define project requirements, and independently managing special projects to support the organization’s IT strategy and operations. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves., * Performs complex analysis, conducts studies, and designs technology solutions involving multiple hardware, software, and network platforms; manages inventory and administration of all related IT assets, including hardware and software.

  • Develops procedures and controls to ensure proper licensing of computer software and establishes standards for the use, control, and updating of regional IT assets, including computer hardware, data communications equipment, and software.
  • Evaluates new technology products and advises on technology standards across multiple hardware and operating system platforms; consults with users and program managers to gather data for feasibility studies and define project requirements.
  • Works independently on special projects, including developing timelines, documenting process flows, preparing written plans, and tracking project milestones; reviews sub-project work products to ensure completeness and accuracy of system design, programming, and implementation.
  • Prepares system plans, reports, and IT requirement specifications for projects proposed by the IT Steering Committee; assists in developing technical specifications for Requests for Proposals and Invitation to Bid documents; performs related duties as required.

  • High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s License.
  • Must have two (2) years’ experience in a correctional environment.
