Job description
As a Software Engineer I you will analyze, design, develop, and maintain software solutions for the organization’s products and systems. You will collaborate on system integrations of software and hardware to ensure optimal performance and program consistency. You will develop, validate, and test structures, user documentation, and software functionality. Work may be reviewed for accuracy and overall adequacy. Follows established processes and directions., * Collaborates with team members to establish requirements for less complex design projects

Completes all phases of software engineering design projects, including coding, debugging, testing, and deployment

Conducts analysis of processes and systems, delivering results to key stakeholders

Analyzes and interprets results, recommending potential solutions for software and system improvements

Contributes to the development and testing of software solutions for various products, ensuring they meet quality and performance standards

Creates and maintains documentation for projects, including code, design specifications, and test results

Stays up to date with the latest technologies and software engineering methodologies, applying them to projects as needed

Reviews and evaluates changes or upgrades to existing designs or test processes

Exercises sound judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for problem solving and solution delivery
This position requires hybrid work (3 days/week in office) in the Lincolnshire, IL office. This position is expected to start in Summer 2027.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.

Advanced Degree in relevant field is also acceptable.

Must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Zebra Technologies Internship

Software Engineering knowledge and/or experience
-
Willingness to learn
-
Experience with cloud software development a plus

Quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
-
Familiarity with programming languages (Spring Boot a plus), operating systems, algorithms and software development frameworks

Basic understanding of software development life cycles (e.g., Agile, Scrum)

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills
Benefits & conditions
$68,400.00 - $102,600.00 Annual
Incentive Compensation:
In addition to base pay, Zebra offers this role the opportunity to earn a performance-based annual cash incentive, at a target equal to 5% of base pay, in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
