Job description

Associate Data Engineer helps design, develop, maintain, and optimize reliable data pipelines, data integrations, and reporting solutions. This role performs routine assignments of limited scope and complexity under close supervision, supports data quality and system reliability, and contributes to operational dashboards and monitoring, including Power BI. The position partners with stakeholders and project teams to deliver solutions that meet business, technology, quality, and compliance requirements while following established standards and SDLC/SAFe Agile practices., * Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines, workflows, and processing activities for data collection, integration, storage, quality, and reliability.

  • Support data connectivity across applications, databases, reporting platforms, and downstream consumers, including data refresh and integration monitoring.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI or similar dashboards that provide operational visibility, data quality insights, and actionable reporting.
  • Monitor data workflows and systems, identify issues, and assist with root cause analysis and resolution within established procedures.
  • Contribute to the performance, scalability, and reliability of data solutions within defined standards and parameters.
  • Participate in the design, configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and support of technical infrastructure, databases, systems software, and application components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and project teams to align data and reporting solutions with business needs and project objectives.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, support process improvements, and recommend practical technology or operational enhancements.
  • Apply established data engineering standards, policies, security controls, and best practices.
  • Participate in SDLC and SAFe Agile activities, change control processes, team projects, and quality and compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience in data engineering, software development, data integration, analytics, or a related technical area.
  • Foundational knowledge of Python, Java, SQL, or comparable programming and query languages.
  • Understanding data engineering concepts, including data integration, processing, warehousing, quality, system design, and architecture.
  • Familiarity with databases, software applications, infrastructure concepts, data management tools, and SDLC/Agile delivery practices.
  • Developing research, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, collaboration, organization, planning, and time-management skills.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Azure cloud database services is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting and dashboarding tools, including dashboard development, data refreshes, and operational monitoring.
  • Familiarity with Pega Customer Decision Hub (CDH).
  • Pega System Architect certification.
  • Working knowledge of NFCU functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives
