Job description

The FPGA Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of FPGA-based digital logic solutions using VHDL for Indra Navigational and Surveillance products., * Design, develop, implement, and maintain FPGA architectures and digital logic for Ground-Based Radio Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS), Surveillance Radios (ADS-B/WAM), Software-Defined Radios (SDR), and other systems as assigned.

  • Develop and update VHDL code for FPGA devices, including simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure.
  • Support full FPGA development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, integration (hardware and firmware), verification, validation, and maintenance of both new and legacy designs.
  • Implement digital signal processing algorithms and SDR architectures on FPGA platforms.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to integrate FPGA designs into system-level architectures.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize FPGA designs in simulation and on-target hardware using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.).

Requirements

  • Experience: 5-10 years of professional experience in FPGA design and development
  • Languages: VHDL
  • FPGA Toolchains: Xilinx Vivado or similar
  • Simulation & Verification: ModelSim or similar
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
