Job description

By leveraging your expertise in instructional design and technical training, you will play a critical role in enhancing the operational readiness of our Cyber & Intelligence teams and ensuring the success of high-stakes national security missions., Responsible for system administration, maintenance, upgrades, installation, test, integration, and configuration of VLP / LF / MF / HF / VHF / UHF / Radio Spectrum Frequencies, collection, and geo-location systems and software (including prototypes, development, operational testing, test, and lab systems). Perform network services from design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrade of existing networks. Administer LAN/CAN/WAN environments and configure both Arista and Cisco network devices. Design, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and provide ongoing maintenance for a variety of network devices. Manage and optimize network connectivity for front-end and back-end components. Provide 24/7 call-in support for operational system-critical discrepancies. Travel as needed for information-system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab) and implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Ansible or Terraform. Build and maintain Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. Monitor and manage hybrid cloud/virtualized environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science or
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, or
  • Two (2) years of experience with an MS in Engineering or CS (can substitute for the bachelor’s).
  • Twelve (12) years of experience with software and system deployments, Linux system administration, containerization, cloud deployments, and DevSecOps.
  • Recent (within the last 3 years) experience in:
  • Kubernetes
  • Cluster orchestration
  • Containerization
  • Active Polygraph (within the last 7 years).
  • Active IAT-II CWIP / DoD 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+) and CCNA certification.

Desired Skills

  • Operating Systems & Administration: Strong Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration; scripting with Python and Bash.
  • Networking: LAN/CAN/WAN administration; experience with Arista and Cisco devices; network design, implementation, and optimization.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Hands-on Docker; Kubernetes cluster management (high availability, scalability, security).
  • CI/CD & IaC: Jenkins or GitLab pipelines; Ansible or Terraform for Infrastructure as Code.
  • Cloud & Virtualization: Management and monitoring of hybrid cloud/virtualized environments.
  • Security & Certifications: IAT-II CWIP / DoD 8570 compliance (Security+), CCNA.
  • Travel & Support: Willingness to travel for system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; availability for 24/7 on-call support.

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
