Job description

Northwest Partners is engaged in a strategic initiative with a well-established insurance organization and seeks an experienced Guidewire ClaimCenter Developer to design and deliver scalable claims technology solutions. This role will serve as a deep technical contributor across Guidewire ClaimCenter, cloud services, integrations, and application architecture while aligning implementation with business needs. What YOU will do Design robust, high-performance solutions across applications, systems, and services in the property and casualty insurance claims domain. Serve as a key technical contributor on critical claims technology projects and initiatives. Provide technical guidance by sharing deep platform, architecture, and development knowledge without formal people management responsibilities. Evaluate and recommend improvements to system architecture, technical standards, security practices, and development processes. Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to align technical implementation with business requirements. Create proofs of concept to demonstrate technical capabilities and validate solution approaches. Apply coding, testing, security, and software engineering best practices. Develop and support Guidewire ClaimCenter solutions and surrounding middleware and cloud integrations. Work within SAFe and established software development lifecycle practices. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred. Hands-on Guidewire ClaimCenter development experience. At least 8 years of software development experience, including experience providing technical direction on complex initiatives. Expert understanding of the full software development lifecycle and the ability to identify and improve development bottlenecks and inefficiencies. Deep knowledge of software design patterns and architectural principles for scalable, maintainable systems. Knowledge of property and casualty insurance claims; auto insurance experience is beneficial. Experience with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, including ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, or BillingCenter. Experience with Guidewire PCF, database models, business rules, assignment rules, message queues, batches, REST APIs, integrations, troubleshooting, and performance profiling. Experience with Java and Gosu; familiarity with Kotlin, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript is beneficial. Experience with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, SQL, and secure coding practices. Experience with AWS and cloud-native architecture, including services such as SQS, SNS, Lambda, PostgreSQL, EKS, or ECS. Experience with CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, unit testing, integration testing, and version control systems such as Git. Experience with Maven or Gradle and modern dependency management practices. Familiarity with monitoring and logging platforms such as AppDynamics and Splunk. Familiarity with Angular, React, Vue, responsive design, progressive web applications, Webpack, or NPM. Familiarity with AI prompt engineering or agentic engineering concepts. Guidewire Cloud InsuranceSuite Professional Developer certification is preferred but not required.
