Job description

Job Summary: As a Manager of Software Engineering-Forecast & Replenishment team, you’ll raise up your team, helping develop individual careers and achieving goals, spotting, and addressing common team problems, and coaching and mentoring those identified for potential company leadership. You’ll work closely with stakeholders from product and design, and other engineering leaders, to provide high-quality, repeatable technology delivery for the digital engineering organization. Responsible for hiring, firing, and performance / pay reviews. Makes decisions based on business objectives and allocated resources. Establishes operational objectives and work plans and delegates assignments to the team. Involved in modifying and executing company policies that affect immediate operations and may also have company-wide impact. Supports the function’s (Digital) business strategy by implementing new standards and products, processes, and mid-term business plans., * Manages activities of two or more sections or departments. Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing. Leads team / department and undertakes coaching and mentoring responsibilities. A portion of time may be spent performing individual tasks related to the department / team or function.

  • Lead and develop a team of software engineers responsible for Forecast & Replenishment platforms that support critical inventory planning and supply chain operations.
  • Drive the delivery of scalable, reliable software solutions that improve forecasting accuracy, inventory optimization, and replenishment processes across the business.
  • Partner closely with Product, Data Science, Supply Chain, and business stakeholders to prioritize work and align technical solutions with business objectives.
  • Provide hands-on technical leadership, including system design reviews, architecture guidance, coaching, and mentoring engineers while fostering a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Balance people leadership with technical engagement, helping the team navigate complex distributed systems, data-intensive applications, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Own team execution, delivery planning, hiring, performance management, and career development while continuously improving engineering processes and operational excellence.
  • Champion modernization efforts, scalability initiatives, and platform reliability to support growing business demands and evolving forecasting capabilities.
  • Influence technical strategy and roadmap decisions, ensuring solutions are maintainable, performant, and aligned with long-term business goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of engineering leadership experience with a proven ability to build, mentor, and scale high-performing software engineering teams.
  • Experience as a Software Engineer
  • Experience with containers, cloud computing, observability, large data sets
  • Strong software engineering background with experience designing and delivering large-scale, data-driven applications and distributed systems.
  • Experience partnering with product and business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Comfortable operating as a player-coach who can provide architectural guidance while empowering teams to execute independently.
  • Experience in supply chain, forecasting, inventory management, replenishment, retail, or other operational technology domains is a plus.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills with a focus on delivering measurable business outcomes.

Education:

  • Bachelor / ‘ in a relevant field of education and / or work experience leading successful projects and coaching / mentoring others in functional area. Completion of H-E-B Leadership programs where applicable

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Function in a fast-paced multi-priority environment
  • Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
  • Work extended hours and / or rotating schedules
