Job description

Perform hands-on design, coding, testing, and support of complex enterprise applications at scale
Help migrate and modernize Java REST services from on-prem to AWS EKS
Build and maintain Java web services and integration layers between UI and data sources
Contribute to the Angular front end as needed (this is not a UI-only role, but UI contribution is required)
Work with databases including MongoDB and Aurora PostgreSQL (similar enterprise DB experience is acceptable)
Implement and execute automated testing and quality practices (including Playwright)
Support CI/CD, code quality, and DevOps-aligned delivery standards
Provide production support, troubleshoot critical issues, and drive continuous improvement
Participate in scoping/architecture conversations and mentor junior engineers as needed

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (or additional relevant experience in lieu of degree)
5+ years of software engineering experience across the SDLC (requirements, design, build, test, and support)
Full stack experience with a backend-heavy focus (70/30 backend/frontend)
Java 17+ required (environment currently using Java 21)
Angular 17+ required (currently on Angular 18, targeting newer versions)
AWS is a hard requirement, including multiple years deploying and managing EKS
Experience migrating/replatforming services from on-prem to AWS
Strong experience with modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, agile delivery, and code quality standards, * AWS certifications (especially AWS Developer or AWS Solutions Architect) - “highly preferable”
Experience with AWS AI/coding assistants (e.g., Amazon Q, Kiro) and an AI-first engineering mindset
