The Opportunity

Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a NOC Engineer . In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring and supporting our network infrastructure with a primary focus on Fortinet hardware and tools. You will work alongside experienced engineers to ensure continuous uptime and resolve network incidents efficiently. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, team-oriented, and has a foundational understanding of networking concepts.

How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Monitor network systems and infrastructure for performance and availability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Fortinet networking equipment including FEX, routers, switches, and access points.

  • Create, update, and manage tickets using ServiceNow in accordance with established procedures and SLAs.

  • Collaborate with internal teams via Microsoft Teams and document processes and solutions using OneNote.

  • Escalate complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of issues, resolutions, and updates in real-time.

  • Adhere to NOC processes and follow standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree, or a minimum of two years of experience in a network related role

  • Familiarity with Fortinet networking equipment (FEX, routers, switches, access

  • points).

  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, specifically OSI layers 1-3.

  • Experience or training in using ServiceNow for ticketing and workflow management.

  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools, especially OneNote and Teams.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as needed.

  • Certification(s) in networking (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE (preferred) certifications, or Cisco CCNA).

  • Previous internship or experience in a technical support/NOC environment (Preferred)

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
