Job description
This is a primarily remote position for a clinician who lives in Western North Carolina (WNC). The majority of services are provided virtually; however, the clinician must be available for in-person responsibilities approximately 2-3 times per month, which may include travel to our office or a correctional facility.
The role includes conducting substance use assessments and facilitating group therapy services while adhering to North Carolina state guidelines. Clinicians use a streamlined EMR system and have administrative and support staff available.
Because training and day-to-day collaboration are primarily virtual, candidates should be comfortable learning, communicating, and working independently in a remote environment. Previous remote or telehealth experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive substance use assessments via telehealth
- Facilitate substance use treatment groups
- Complete clear, accurate, and timely clinical documentation
- Provide appropriate, individualized treatment recommendations
- Maintain compliance with North Carolina standards and ethical guidelines
- Collaborate with team members to support continuity of care
- Participate in remote training, communication, and team collaboration
- Be available for in-person responsibilities approximately 2-3 times per month, including potential travel to the office or a correctional facility
Requirements
- Required: CADC or LCAS (North Carolina)
- Must be fully credentialed; we are not accepting intern or associate-level licenses at this time
- Must live in Western North Carolina (WNC)
- Experience in the DWI field is required, including conducting assessments and/or facilitating groups
- Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills
- Comfortable learning, training, and working remotely
- Able to work independently and stay organized in a virtual environment
- Previous remote or telehealth experience is preferred, but not required
- Able to travel locally for occasional in-person responsibilities approximately 2-3 times per month
- Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required

Counselor - Substance Use / DWI Services
Compensation: $50,000-$65,000 annually, based on experience, credentials, and qualifications.
Schedule: Full-time, Tuesday through Saturday. Sundays and Mondays are off. Some evening appointments are required to meet client needs; most assessments occur during daytime hours.
Silver Lining Therapy is a virtual, North Carolina-based provider offering substance use assessments, ADETS, Prime for Life, and outpatient treatment services.
