Job description

Akamai Intelligence is seeking a Chief Enterprise Architect to lead business intelligence and data architecture strategy in direct support of a federal client’s mission systems. This role owns the design and governance of the organization’s central data warehouse and enterprise BI platform, translating complex business requirements into scalable, secure data solutions. The successful candidate will work onsite in Germantown, Maryland, and must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” clearance or equivalent Top Secret clearance., ? Determine platforms, processes, and procedures for a centralized data warehouse based on evolving business and technical requirements.

? Lead integration of data security, authentication, and web accessibility standards across all BI and data architecture initiatives.

? Centralize data from disparate stores into a unified warehouse and connect it to enterprise BI tooling.

? Design and develop dashboards and automated reporting views, combining predictive analytics with real-time reporting for data-driven decision-making.

? Support and maintain the organization’s BI backend, including data warehouses and data lakes, to enable machine learning and AI-driven insights.

? Lead Extract, Load, Transform (ELT/ETL) processes across varied data sources, including metadata management and data modeling.

? Optimize database and data modeling practices to sustain data governance and broad data accessibility (“data democracy”).

? Diagnose and resolve operational issues across the data warehouse and BI support environment.

? Partner with IT and program leadership, data architects, data scientists, analysts, business intelligence teams, cybersecurity analysts, and data quality management teams to align technical solutions with mission needs.

? Contribute to team-based software lifecycle management, including automated testing, documentation, code versioning, and change/configuration management.

Requirements

? Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution.

? Minimum of 10 years of experience in data architecture, BI development, or BI management, with extensive use of data components and information management systems.

? Demonstrated experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale BI solutions and dashboards.

? Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex BI concepts for varied technical and non-technical stakeholders.

? Must currently hold, or be able to obtain, a DOE “Q” clearance or Top Secret clearance (or equivalent) prior to start.

? Ability to work onsite full-time in Germantown, Maryland.
