Job description
Experteer Overview As a Platform Engineer, you will advance embedded platform software for Cisco wireless products, supporting boot-time initialization, BSPs, and subsystem integration. You’ll help bring up hardware, debug system issues in embedded Linux, and contribute to quality through reviews, tests, and CI. You’ll work closely with hardware and product teams to deliver reliable, high-performance software at scale. This role invites you to explore AI-enabled engineering practices to boost productivity and code quality. You will be part of a collaborative, cross-functional team shaping next-gen wireless platforms. Compensation / Benefits * Design, develop, debug, and validate embedded software for wireless platform products * Develop low-level platform software including boot-time initialization and device-level components * Assist with hardware bring-up and subsystem integration for new and existing platforms * Investigate software/system issues in embedded Linux environments and drive resolution with senior engineers * Contribute to software quality through code reviews, testing, automation, and continuous integration * Collaborate with hardware, test, manufacturing, and product engineering teams Tasks * Bachelor or Master in a technical field with relevant experience * Up to 1 year of embedded software development experience (coursework or internship) * Strong understanding of embedded systems fundamentals (memory, interrupts, concurrency, interfaces) * Proficiency in C and C++, familiarity with Python or shell scripting, and embedded Linux basics * Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills * Interest in AI-enabled engineering practices and AI-assisted tooling for development, debugging, and test automation Key requirements * competitive salary * medical, dental, and vision insurance * 401(k) with matching * paid holidays * paid parental leave * stock unit grants
