Job description

  • Provide regularly scheduled, staff-centered individual clinical supervision and document supervision in accordance with BHN guidelines.
  • Guide clinicians in delivering person-centered, trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and recovery-oriented clinical care within a safe and structured residential setting.
  • Support high-quality admissions, assessments, individualized treatment planning, clinical programming, discharge planning, and transitions to continuing care.
  • Promote effective multidisciplinary collaboration among clinical, medical, nursing, recovery-support, and case-management staff to address each individual’s treatment needs.
  • Help clinicians establish professional-development goals, monitor progress, and connect them with training and resources that strengthen substance-use and co-occurring-disorder competencies.
  • Assess clinicians’ core competencies at onboarding and defined milestones, providing feedback and support that promotes growth toward independent practice.
  • Monitor caseloads, group protocols, schedules, productivity, census-related clinical needs, documentation quality and timeliness, utilization review, and medical-necessity expectations.
  • Review and sign required clinical documentation and support compliance with BHN, payer, Massachusetts DPH Bureau of Substance Addiction Services, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, accreditation, and ethical standards.
  • Provide assessments, individual or group interventions, crisis support, care coordination, and other direct clinical services as assigned.
  • Collaborate with withdrawal-management programs, referral sources, families and natural supports, healthcare providers, recovery supports, community partners, and other BHN services to promote continuity of care.

Requirements

  • Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Addiction Studies, or another eligible behavioral health field required.
  • Current independent clinical license in Massachusetts, such as LICSW, LMHC, or LADC I, required.
  • Clinical experience in substance-use treatment, clinical stabilization, residential services, recovery services, or a related behavioral health setting required.
  • Experience or training in treating co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions required.
  • Knowledge of person-centered, trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and recovery-oriented practices, including treatment planning, group services, crisis response, and discharge planning.
  • Familiarity with Massachusetts DPH Bureau of Substance Addiction Services regulations, medical necessity, utilization review, accreditation, and payer documentation expectations preferred.
  • Ability to coach clinicians, provide constructive feedback, support professional growth, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Excellent clinical judgment, verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and technology skills, including proficiency with electronic health records, email, and common office tools.
