Job description
The Senior Test Specialist in Cloud Automation Testing focuses on automating testing processes in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and Data Warehousing environments to ensure the quality and reliability of data pipelines. The role involves designing, developing, and implementing automation scripts for testing data transformations, data loading processes, and data quality verification. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute automated test scripts for ETL processes and data pipelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automated testing frameworks.
- Create test plans and test cases for ETL and data warehouse testing.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues in data transformations and data loading processes.
- Conduct performance testing and ensure scalability of data pipelines.
- Implement best practices for data quality assurance in ETL environments., * Define and evolve enterprise TDM architecture covering data masking, subsetting, synthetic data generation, data refresh, provisioning, virtualization, and test-data discovery.
- Design scalable TDM solutions across heterogeneous environments including:
- Mainframe DB2, VSAM, sequential datasets, GDGs and related technologies.
- Distributed databases Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, DB2 LUW and similar platforms.
- Cloud/data platforms and enterprise data lakes.
- APIs, files, messaging, and integrated application ecosystems.
- Define reusable test-data patterns based on recurring application and QA requirements.
- Evaluate enterprise TDM products and capabilities against technical and business requirements without being tied to a specific vendor.
- Develop solution architectures, technical workflows, capability matrices, PoCs, and platform recommendations.
- Partner with Information Security and Data Governance teams to establish masking, privacy, and non-production data controls.
- Integrate TDM capabilities with CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and self-service provisioning workflows.
- Explore opportunities for AI-assisted and synthetic test-data generation while maintaining security and data-quality controls.
- Provide architecture and technical leadership to offshore TDM engineers.
- Facilitate technical discussions with application architects, engineering teams, DBAs, data teams, and senior technology stakeholders.
- Define operational metrics including provisioning lead time, refresh duration, automation coverage, masking compliance, and service reliability., The architect will serve as the primary onsite technical authority for TDM and ensure that tactical application requirements contribute toward reusable enterprise capabilities rather than isolated point solutions.
Requirements
- Proficiency in cloud-based automation testing tools such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
- Experience in automation testing of ETL processes and data warehousing.
- Strong understanding of SQL for data querying and validation.
- Knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka is a plus.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Java, or Shell scripting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

- Data subsetting.
- Synthetic test-data generation.
- Database refresh and cloning.
- Automated/self-service provisioning.
- Referential-integrity management.
- Test-data discovery and profiling.
- Strong SQL and relational database expertise.
- Experience working with complex enterprise application/data landscapes.
- Knowledge of mainframe and distributed data technologies.
- Understanding of cloud/data-lake architectures and modern data platforms.
- Experience integrating engineering platforms through APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
- Knowledge of data privacy, PII handling, and non-production security controls.
- Ability to create enterprise architecture diagrams, solution designs, and technical standards.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with commercial or enterprise TDM platforms such as K2view, Broadcom Test Data Manager, Delphix, BMC Compuware/File-AID, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience with Databricks or modern enterprise data platforms.
- Experience with ServiceNow-based request/workflow integration.
- Experience implementing TDM self-service portals or APIs.
- Exposure to GenAI/Agentic AI approaches for test-data discovery, generation, or orchestration.
Leadership Expectations
The successful candidate should be able to move comfortably between architecture and implementation-from presenting an enterprise TDM strategy to senior technology leaders to working with engineers on the technical mechanics of provisioning data across databases and applications.
