Job description
Robert Half Management Resources is looking for an experienced Workday Financials Functional Workstream Lead to support a long-term engagement with one of our clients. This position will guide enterprise finance transformation initiatives by aligning Workday Financial Management capabilities with business goals, operating models, and process improvements. The role requires a strong leader who can advise senior stakeholders, coordinate complex delivery efforts, and help organizations move from strategy through deployment and optimization.
Responsibilities:

Lead the functional workstream for Workday Financials initiatives, coordinating planning, design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-launch stabilization activities.

Partner with finance and executive stakeholders to shape future-state operating models and translate business priorities into practical Workday solutions.

Direct business process redesign across key finance cycles such as record-to-report, procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, cash management, and planning activities.

Oversee cross-functional teams and implementation partners to keep delivery milestones, governance, budgets, and risk management on track throughout the program lifecycle.

Provide guidance on the functional use of Workday Financial Management modules, including core financials, reporting, expenses, procurement, projects, grants, and planning-related capabilities.

Develop recommendations for data conversion, reporting, and system integration approaches connecting Workday with legacy platforms and external applications.

Support executive decision-making by presenting status updates, solution considerations, implementation risks, and readiness needs to senior business leaders.

Contribute to client-facing planning and solution discussions by helping define scope, estimate workstreams, and shape approaches for finance transformation programs.
Requirements
Requirements * 8+ years of experience in consulting, finance transformation, systems delivery, or program leadership, including at least 4 years leading Workday Financial Management initiatives.

Demonstrated success leading functional workstreams for full lifecycle Workday Financials implementations in roles such as workstream lead, engagement manager, or solution architect.

Strong knowledge of finance process transformation, including process standardization and redesign across major accounting and operational finance functions.

Hands-on understanding of Workday Financial Management modules and how they support enterprise finance operating models.

Proven project management capability in complex, cross-functional environments with responsibility for governance, delivery oversight, and stakeholder alignment.

Experience advising senior leaders on organizational readiness, change adoption, and implementation strategy for finance system transformation.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

Active or previous Workday Financials certifications are strongly preferred.
