Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Server Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our relational database systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with SQL Server and related technologies, demonstrating a strong ability to troubleshoot complex issues, perform system tuning, and develop robust disaster recovery architectures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the stability and scalability of our data infrastructure across diverse environments, including cloud-based databases., * Manage the installation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of SQL Server databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

  • Develop and implement high availability solutions such as database clustering and replication to minimize downtime.
  • Perform routine database backup and recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and security.
  • Design and optimize data models, stored procedures, triggers, and T-SQL scripts to support application development and reporting needs.
  • Conduct system tuning activities to improve database performance and reduce latency.
  • Implement data management security protocols in compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
  • Execute data migration projects between different database platforms or versions with minimal disruption.
  • Develop disaster recovery architectures to safeguard against data loss or system failures.
  • Monitor database health using performance metrics; troubleshoot issues related to system bottlenecks or failures.
  • Collaborate with development teams on database design, schema changes, and performance tuning initiatives.
  • Support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for data integration from various sources.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Assist in cloud database administration tasks across platforms such as Azure SQL Database .
  • Any experience working with MS Power BI for business/ Data analytics a plus, Join us as a SQL Server Database Administrator to play a pivotal role in enhancing our data infrastructure’s robustness. Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years experience as a Database Administrator specializing in Microsoft SQL Server technology within a global enterprise
  • Strong knowledge of high availability architecture including clustering, replication, and failover strategies.
  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems along with shell scripting languages such as Bash for automation tasks.
  • Expertise in PL/SQL programming language for advanced data manipulation.
  • Hands-on experience with database backup/recovery procedures and disaster recovery planning.
  • Skilled in performance tuning techniques for SQL Server databases; experience with system troubleshooting support is essential.
  • Knowledge of cloud databases and migration strategies to cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) for data integration workflows.
  • Understanding of data security best practices related to data management security policies.
  • Ability to design efficient data models and implement relational database structures aligned with application requirements.
  • Strong scripting skills for automation of routine tasks; experience with Shell Scripting or similar languages is desirable.
  • Excellent analytical skills combined with effective communication abilities suitable for diverse teams.
