Job description
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineering Manager to lead a high-performing team responsible for strengthening cloud security posture across a large-scale multi-cloud environment. This role sits at the intersection of cloud security, automation, risk management, and AI-enabled security capabilities, driving initiatives that improve security while enabling engineering teams to move efficiently.
This is an opportunity to lead a growing cloud security function, influence enterprise security strategy, and advance modern cloud protection capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team focused on Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP) initiatives.
- Manage team performance, career development, coaching, and compensation activities in accordance with organizational policies.
- Oversee the use of cloud security assessment platforms to identify, prioritize, and remediate cloud configuration risks across enterprise cloud environments.
- Drive the adoption of AI-enabled capabilities to improve operational efficiency, preventive controls, threat detection, and security investigations.
- Partner with Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, Security Operations, Enterprise Architecture, and application teams to implement shift-left security practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to improve cloud security controls, prioritize remediation efforts, develop mitigation strategies, and expand automated remediation capabilities.
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of native and custom cloud security controls while ensuring alignment with recognized security frameworks and industry best practices.
- Oversee risk exception requests, false-positive investigations, and security finding risk adjustments.
- Define remediation SLAs, enforcement policies, security guardrails, and quality standards.
- Develop and report KPIs, metrics, and operational objectives that measure program effectiveness and security posture improvements.
- Partner with engineering teams to optimize security scanning tools, improve visibility, reduce noise, and expand security coverage.
- Lead continuous process improvement initiatives across cloud security operations.
- Stay current with evolving cloud security technologies, attack techniques, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in cloud security engineering, cloud infrastructure engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
- Strong knowledge of public cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform.
- Solid understanding of cloud security architecture, identity and access management, and security best practices.
- Experience identifying and mitigating complex security risks within cloud environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical and business leaders.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are highly preferred:
- AI-assisted software development tools or security threat modeling.
- Continuous improvement methodologies and process optimization.
- Cloud security platforms such as Wiz, Prisma Cloud, Aqua Security, CrowdStrike, Tenable, Qualys, or similar solutions.
- Kubernetes and container security.
- Security data aggregation, vulnerability prioritization, or exposure management platforms.
- Risk governance, audit support, compliance, and security control validation.
- Knowledge of emerging cloud security technologies, AI-driven security capabilities, and modern security operations., * Threat Modeling: 5 years (Required)
