Job description

The Data Specialist is responsible for managing, maintaining, and ensuring the absolute accuracy of student enrollment, attendance, and assessment data within the district’s Student Information System (SIS). This role serves as the primary Tier I technical support for staff usage, designs custom reporting options, and ensures full data compliance with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) reporting mandates and timelines., * Monitors and coordinates data entry of student enrollment and attendance to ensure accuracy of data and instructs on proper methods of making corrections

  • Serves as Tier I support for SIS usage and troubleshooting
  • Provides training and professional development resources to staff as needed
  • Sets up for Assessments, Class Roster Files (CRF), and PARCC Rostering
  • Collects and completes required data for state reports per ISBE guidelines on content and completion dates
  • Coordinates with other staff on master schedules, rollover procedures, lunch/bell schedules, and school calendar to complete projects/work orders efficiently
  • Designs report options and/or database applications (e.g., report cards, registration forms, lunch program) to provide personnel with information customized to their specific needs
  • Sets up individual accounts, issues passwords, and resolves lock concerns for ensuring proper and efficient usage of the system and notifies users of system changes
  • Responds to user requests for a variety of report options for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties
  • Updates Student Course Assignment, ISBE Dashboard
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented individual with analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong planning, organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well within a team environment
  • Experience in working with a student information system (Infinite Campus is preferred).
