Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Senior Fullstack Developer to join our innovative technology team. In this role, you will lead the development and maintenance of scalable, high-performance web applications and backend systems. Your expertise will drive the design and implementation of robust APIs, distributed architectures, and cloud infrastructure solutions.

You will work across our Rails backend and React/Next.js frontend, building features that directly impact how patients receive their medications and how our pharmacy operations team works. You’ll contribute to a distributed architecture spanning multiple Rails applications, a Go microservices layer, and a modern TypeScript frontend monorepo.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional eager to influence the future of our digital platforms through technical excellence and creative problem-solving. This is a high-ownership role. You’ll ship features end-to-end, from database schema to API to UI, and collaborate closely with product, pharmacy operations, and other engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle development of web applications, from system design to deployment, ensuring scalability and performance.
  • Build and maintain features across our Ruby on Rails backend (Rails 6, Ruby 3.1) and React/Next.js frontend (TypeScript, Tailwind CSS)
  • Design and implement APIs consumed by internal tools, partner integrations, and patient-facing applications
  • Contribute to our Go microservices for pharmacy management, prescription processing, and NCPDP messaging
  • Improve internal tools used daily by pharmacists, operations staff, and customer support
  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and on-call rotations

Requirements

Required

  • 5+ years of professional software development experience
  • Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails - you’ve built and maintained production Rails applications
  • Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript - you’re comfortable with modern React patterns (hooks, server components, TanStack Query)
  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL preferred) - schema design, query optimization, migrations
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Comfort working across the full stack - you can debug a database query, fix a service layer bug, and update the UI in the same PR
  • Solid understanding of git workflows, CI/CD, and code review practices

Nive to Have

  • Experience with Go
  • Experience with Next.js (App Router and Pages Router)
  • Familiarity with Nx monorepos
  • Experience with Temporal.io or similar workflow orchestration
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EKS, RDS, SQS, S3, Lambda)
  • Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger spec-driven development
  • Healthcare, pharmacy, or regulated-industry experience
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Terraform

Our Tech Stack

  • Frontend - TypeScript, React 18, Next.js 14, Tailwind CSS, Nx monorepo, TanStack Query
  • Bckend - Ruby on Rails 6, Go, GraphQL
  • Databases - MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, SQL Server, OpenSearch
  • Infrastructure - AWS (EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda, CloudFront), Kubernetes, Terraform, Docker
  • Orchestration - Temporal.io
  • Observability - Sentry, OpenTelemetry, Metabase, Grafana, Loki, Prometheus
  • CI/CD - GitHub Actions, * Bachelor’s (Required)
