Director of Information Techonlogy

Provides strategic and technical leadership for the Information Technology Department by developing and implementing technology strategies that support agency operations, cybersecurity, digital transformation, and long-term organizational goals., To perform this job successfully, an individual must perform essential duties to expected performance standards. • Establishes and directs the information technology department’s strategic goals, policies and procedures, and maintains the overall performance and availability of the agency’s information technology network.
• Develops, maintains, and communicates a multi-year technology strategy and roadmap aligned with agency priorities. Provides regular updates and recommendations to executive leadership and other stakeholders regarding technology initiatives, project status, risks, emerging opportunities, and technology investments to support informed organizational decision-making.
• Establishes priorities, delegates responsibilities, allocates resources, and ensures work is completed timely and in accordance with standards.
• Analyzes organizational technology needs and establishes priorities for technology investments, infrastructure improvements, system implementations, and modernization initiatives.
• Manages the enterprise technology infrastructure including cloud services, networking, identity management, business applications, cybersecurity, telecommunications, public safety technologies, and end-user computing.
• Provides technical leadership and guidance in resolving complex infrastructure, cybersecurity, and enterprise technology issues.
• Leads enterprise technology initiatives involving multiple departments through collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
• Develops and manages strategic relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and service providers to ensure effective service delivery, contract performance, and value to the organization.
• Establishes governance practices for technology investments, cybersecurity, and organizational risk.
• Ensures effective delivery of technology support services, including end-user support, productivity software, mobile devices, remote access, hardware lifecycle management, and user training.
• Implements policies and procedures regarding how problems are identified, received, documented, and corrected. Ensures maximum resolution of issues in minimum time.
• Ensures reliable operation and continuous improvement of enterprise communications and network services.
• Evaluates emerging technologies, business applications, infrastructure, and vendor solutions and recommends investments that improve operational effectiveness, cybersecurity, customer service, and organizational efficiency.
• Develops and manages the agency’s information security program, including cybersecurity, disaster recovery, business continuity, data protection, and technology resilience. Provides technical leadership and oversight for enterprise security systems, network infrastructure, and communications technologies.
• Develops, implements, and maintains enterprise cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures that protect the agency’s technology environment, information assets, and critical systems. Ensures appropriate security controls, access management, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation practices are in place to support secure and reliable technology operations.
• Partners with departments to leverage technology and data to support operational and business needs.
• Ensures staff receive responsive technology support, training, and technical resources necessary to perform their work effectively. Maintains confidentiality of confidential or sensitive records and information.
• Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and punctual attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required., * Ensures compliance with purchasing, budgeting, contracting, and other agency administrative processes.
• Provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders by responding to questions, offering assistance, and communicating information in a professional and timely manner.
• Collaborates across departments to identify organizational needs, develop technology solutions, and support agency-wide initiatives that advance Five Rivers MetroParks’ mission.
• Supports organizational planning, innovation, and continuous improvement through participation in strategic initiatives and special projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned., * Provides overall leadership and direction for the Information Technology Department, establishing priorities that align with organizational goals.
• Directly supervises assigned staff. Manages in accordance with the MetroParks’ policies and applicable laws, and delegated authority.
• Responsibilities include participating in, and making recommendations pertaining to the selection, discipline of employees, and other personnel decisions in consultation with the human resources department.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A combination of appropriate education, training, coursework and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible information technology experience, including five years in a leadership or management role.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Valid Ohio Drivers’ License which meets Five Rivers MetroParks’ insurance carrier guidelines.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, PMP, ITIL, Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, Azure, or equivalent) are desirable., Candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screening test prior to employment.
