Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to support research projects in statistical genetics, computational biology, and multi-omics integration, with a focus on neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory diseases. The candidate will work closely with senior researchers to analyze large-scale genomic and single-cell datasets, contributing to data analysis, programming, and scientific writing to help translate genetic findings into biological insights.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, typical responsibilities include:
  • Perform statistical analyses and provide programming support for collaborative projects and consultations under faculty supervision - 65 %
  • Participate in statistical consultations with clinicians and researchers and present results from analysis at collaborative meetings - 10%
  • Contribute to protocol development, statistical analysis plans, and the preparation of grant applications and manuscripts - 10 %
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate data management tools, and perform data queries for research studies - 10 %
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested - 5 %

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education and experience., * Bachelor’s degree in biostatistics, computational biology, bioinformatics, or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis and programming.

Other Requirements

  • Master’s degree in computational biology, bioinformatics or biostatistics, or related field.
  • Experience in statistical genetics or analysis of large-scale biological data.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or Bash.
  • Experience working with genomic data (e.g., GWAS summary statistics or genotype data).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and detail oriented.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience contributing to scientific publications or collaborative research projects (preferred but not required).
