Job description

Experteer Overview As an Engineer IV in Embedded Systems, you will anchor our next-generation hardware software, designing and optimizing high-performance code for diverse embedded platforms. You will own end-to-end software lifecycle from prototype to production, bridging low-level hardware with cloud infrastructure. You’ll work closely with hardware, mechanical, and cloud teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions and drive edge compute and OTA capabilities. This role offers meaningful impact on system stability and product readiness across devices. Compensation / Benefits * Architect, implement, and maintain embedded software from prototype to production * Develop and optimize firmware and middleware on Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson, and ARM SOMs * Write and debug low-level drivers and interfaces for sensors, cameras, and peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, PCIe) * Optimize edge compute software using hardware acceleration (CUDA, TensorRT) on Jetson platforms * Design fault-detection, automated recovery, and secure OTA firmware updates * Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and cloud backend teams to define architectures * Mentor junior engineers and drive code quality through reviews, testing, and documentation * Perform additional duties as assigned Tasks * BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) * 6+ years’ experience in embedded software development with shipping hardware products * Expert proficiency in C and C++, strong Python or Bash for testing/automation * Deep Embedded Linux experience (kernel config, device tree, custom drivers) * Hands-on experience with Raspberry Pi (Linux/Debian) and NVIDIA Jetson (JetPack) * Solid understanding of SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, USB * Experience with high-resolution sensors/cameras or similar sensors * Proficiency with Git, CMake, Docker, and CI/CD for embedded targets * Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, MQTT, gRPC; lab debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters * Expert in trunk-based development, release planning, cherry-picking, and rebasing Key requirements *
