Job description
The Lead SAP EWM Consultant will be responsible for evaluating, designing, configuring, and supporting SAP EWM processes across warehouse and manufacturing-related operations. This person must be comfortable working directly with business users, understanding warehouse execution requirements, troubleshooting issues, and recommending scalable solutions.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead SAP EWM functional design, configuration, testing, and support activities.
- Work directly with warehouse, logistics, manufacturing, and IT stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into SAP EWM solutions.
- Support core EWM processes including inbound, outbound, internal warehouse movements, staging, picking, packing, putaway, replenishment, physical inventory, and production supply.
- Provide expertise in EWM integration with discrete manufacturing operations.
- Analyze existing warehouse processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Troubleshoot complex functional and process issues across SAP EWM.
- Support non-standard reporting requirements, custom enhancements, and operational visibility needs.
- Partner with technical teams on interfaces, forms, reports, enhancements, and data-related issues.
- Develop functional specifications, process documentation, test scripts, and training/support materials as needed.
- Operate independently as the primary SAP EWM subject matter expert.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Warehouse experience?, * Minimum 12 years of SAP EWM experience.
- Strong background supporting warehouse operations in a discrete manufacturing environment.
- Deep functional knowledge of SAP EWM configuration and end-to-end warehouse execution processes.
- Experience working as a senior consultant, lead consultant, or principal-level EWM SME.
- Ability to function as a sole contributor with minimal oversight.
- Strong understanding of SAP integration points with manufacturing, inventory management, materials management, and logistics execution.
- Experience supporting custom reporting, non-standard reporting, enhancements, and operational analytics.
- Ability to work directly with business users to diagnose issues and define practical solutions.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Bonus Points:
- SAP S/4HANA EWM experience.
- Embedded EWM experience.
- Experience with RF transactions, queue monitoring, warehouse task/warehouse order logic, labor/process optimization, and production staging.
- Experience in complex warehouse environments with custom processes or reporting requirements.
- Prior experience in manufacturing, industrial, automotive, aerospace, electronics, or similar discrete manufacturing settings.
