Job description
Information Technology Services (ITS) is DSS’s technology services organization. ITS mission is to support the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of both agencies. ITS creates and enhances the technology infrastructure and computer applications that support HRA and DHS and develops applications, including a variety of client eligibility and recertification systems, case management systems, housing systems, employment/work engagement services, revenue producing computer matches, claiming systems, and personnel systems. Information Technology Services (ITS) is recruiting for one (1) IT Project Specialist, to function as Network Operations Center Systems Administrator, who will:
- Be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and supporting enterprise monitoring initiatives that ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the agency’s technology infrastructure.
- Manage multiple concurrent technology projects involving enterprise monitoring platforms, infrastructure enhancements, software upgrades, automation initiatives, security improvements, and operational modernization efforts.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure Services, Network Services, Cybersecurity, Enterprise Hosting, vendors, and business stakeholders to coordinate project activities.
- Manage implementation schedules, resolve technical issues, and ensure successful deployment of enterprise monitoring solutions supporting mission-critical business operations. Hours/Shift: 9:00am - 5:00pm IT PROJECT SPECIALIST - 95710
Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
- Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1”, “2”, or “3” above. Preferred Skills UNIX/LINUX Administration, Bash and KORN shell scripting. Python Systems programming. Networking monitoring with Riverbed, Nagios, Zenoss and VMNware Hyperic. Security configurations via IPFW, SNORT, Tipping Point IPS, AVG. Experience with BSD, CentOS/Fedora/Red Hat, Debian/Ubuntu, SunOS/Solaris. A+ Certified. Working with x86, Sparc and Motorola server and desktop hardware. Apache, ISS and Nginx HTTP servers and applications that use them. Deployment of security, applications and monitoring platforms. Coordinated multiple deployments with external vendors and internal IT teams.
