The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for the provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and ongoing support of enterprise infrastructure systems that enable reliable business operations. This role administers server, network, storage, and operating system environments while supporting system performance, security, availability, and disaster recovery processes. This role administers server, network, storage, and operating system environments while supporting system performance, security, availability, and disaster recovery processes. The IT Systems Administrator collaborates with infrastructure, database, and application teams to maintain stable and secure technology environments, troubleshoot issues, implement system enhancements, and ensure adherence to operational best practices across Windows, Linux, networking, storage, and enterprise platform technologies.
Responsibilities
- Administer patch management for servers and end point devices, configure and administer daily backups
- Conduct performance reporting to support capacity and Advanced Active Directory and email management
- Complete basic Windows or Linux administration tasks, including patching, configuration of server roles and features, and installation of software package
- Contribute to support of network and storage environments including SAN, clustering, load balancing, multi-site VPNs, network IDS, firewalls, and application delivery/virtualization products such as Citrix
- Contribute to support of enterprise database systems such as MS-SQL, Intersystems’ Cache, and Oracle
Requirements
Required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
- Working knowledge of IT standards, concepts, best practices, and procedures
- Ability to prioritize attention and workload to focus on client priorities within a time sensitive environment
- Strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual thinking skills
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- ITIL framework work experience
- Enterprise virtualization technologies in a live, production environment work experience
- Windows Server Platform enterprise management work experience
Expectations
- This position requires regular availability outside of standard business hours for critical issue resolution and planned maintenance
- Must be comfortable with remote work arrangements and virtual collaboration tools
